From Ljubljana, Slovenia, Matic was born in to basketball and sports. As his family was well involved in Basketball in Slovenia and their region there was no other way for him but to be involved. From trying different sports He found his passion in Basketball which Matic trained from early ages to ending before it was time to go professional.   

After finishing his playing career and getting his masters in Sports Management, Matic stayed close to sports with working a desk job at first sports TV channel in Slovenia. From there he shifted to marketing and sales, which is still his position to this day.   

Few years later Matic returned to his roots and started working at BC Cedevita Olimpija. While working in marketing, he is involved in communications with their sponsors and league competitions and also in organizing home matches and OT program.
